History

Cartec International, Inc. was founded in 1991 and was renamed to Cartec Inc. in 2010.

We are a leading manufacturer and supplier of empty and finished ribbon cartridges, spools, and precision thermal cores.

Cartec’s Corporate Offices and Distribution Center are located in a suburban Industrial Park in Canton, Connecticut.

Core Competencies

Cartec is one of the largest manufacturers of printer ribbon kits, finished ribbons, thermal cores and spools in the Americas. We build a standard “compatible” or a custom OEM ribbon. This can include custom inks, nylons, cottons and silk products.

We currently make specific products for industries such as POS, Banking, Retail, Photo, Food, and the Garment trades to name a few.

When an custom ribbon is made,  it is made to the exact specifications our customer demands. This may include a logo and/or other information on the plastic, specific type of ribbon, ribbon length and/or ink as well as inking degrees and character yields.

Packaging and labeling for many of our customers is also critical. This may include individual boxes and master cartons.

Our molding/tooling services design through completion for your project. This can include everything from plastic selection to color selection.

Cartec’s goal is to provide the best value and service price. We always do the best we can to help them achieve that goal. We know that price and quality are important – “the backside” is extremely critical as well – how you and your orders are handled.

Customers are assigned a specific Customer Service rep – this rep is responsible for all day to day activity such as order entry, confirmation and order shipment information. Each customer service rep also has a back up.

We can and do stock inventory for customers so backorders are virtually eliminated (inventory is based on forecasts). This can radically reduce inventory costs and increases your turns if we are holding the inventory.

While at the same time we can design a program for stocking, drop ship or combination of stocking and drop shipping.

Customers can reduce order processing times by using Cartec’s EDI services for drop shipment orders.
